What Does Union County do anyway?
That's a common question in Westfield, and the Westfield Democratic Committee aims to provide some answers to that question.
We are proud to present our guest speaker: the Honorable Joanne Rajoppi, Union County Clerk. She will provide the overview that our community needs to know about county government.
Join us on April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Westfield Community Center to learn about what your county does.

Some important highlights of County Clerk Rajoppi's career: She is the first woman Union County Clerk in the 154 year history of the county. First elected in 1995, she was reelected to five year terms in 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015.
Previously, she was elected to be: the first woman Mayor of Springfield (1977), a Freeholder on the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders (1978), and the first woman Chairperson of the Union County Democratic Committee. She is a seven time winner of the National Association of Counties Achievement Award for innovative and creative management.
In the 2008 Presidential Primary, Ms. Rajoppi made national headlines when she took on a national voting machine company for voting discrepancies. The case resulted in security measures on the machines mandated by the court.
We look forward to seeing you at this program!
