Thanks for your interest in the Westfield Democratic Committee
If you are a high school student, there are numerous ways you can volunteer for the committee.
What does the Westfield Democratic Committee do?
The Westfield Democratic Committee is the local organization for Democrats in Westfield. We have 50 committee members, two from each of the 25 districts in the town's four wards. Committee members select the Democratic candidates to run for mayor and council and also have a voice in choosing candidates for other offices, including the state Legislature and U.S. Congress.
In addition, committee members volunteer their time on a variety of activities, including door-to-door canvassing and phone banking as well as working on a campaign of one of our local candidates. In Westfield, local elections are held every other year in off-years. So in 2024, there will be no local elections in Westfield. However, we still plan to be actively involved, helping to elect Sue Altman to the U.S. House of Representatives, Andy Kim to the U.S. Senate and Kamala Harris to the White House.
If you are taking Advanced Placement U.S. History and you need credit for an internship, fill out the form and we'll be back in touch. Even if you don't need credit, we encourage you to get involved and volunteer this fall on what will be a history-making election.
Most importantly, don't forget to register to vote as soon as you turn 18 and vote on Tuesday, November 5.
